LMS Emmy Noether Fellowships 2020
The London Mathematical Society is delighted to announce that, thanks to a generous donation from the Liber Stiftung (Liber Foundation), several Emmy Noether Fellowships with a value between £2,000 and £10,000 will be awarded in 2020, up to a total of £20,000. The fellowships are designed to enhance the mathematical sciences research, broadly construed, of holders either re-establishing their research programme after returning from a major break associated with caring responsibilities or those requiring support to maintain their research programme while dealing with significant ongoing caring responsibilities (closing date: 1 May 2020).
STEAM Academic Liaison and Outreach Co-ordinator
Heriot-Watt University is looking for a dynamic individual with a strong academic background in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, or Mathematics (STEAM) to join a team that is developing new initiatives to support the University's ambitious new widening participation and outreach strategy. The role-holder will work closely with Heriot-Watt's Public Engagement team and our Widening Participation manager as the academic lead on the development and delivery of innovative and inspiring collaborative partnerships with regional schools, colleges, and industrial partners to deliver embedded and sustained STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics) initiatives that support and foster aspirations to higher education (closing date: 21 February 2020).
