Professor B Keller (Paris VII) Title: Quiver mutation and quantum dilogarithm identities Abstract: A quiver is an oriented graph. Quiver mutation is an elementary operation on quivers. In mathematics, it first appeared in the definition of cluster algebras invented by Fomin-Zelevinsky around the year 2000 (though, with hindsight, Gabrielov transformations in singularity theory may be seen as predecessors). In physics, it appeared a few years before in Seiberg duality. In this lecture, I will demonstrate the rich combinatorics of quiver mutation and describe how they yield equalities between products of quantum dilogarithm series which generalize Faddeev-Kashaev's classical 5-term identity. The proofs involve the theory linking cluster algebras to quiver representations.
