Representative, University of Strathclyde
Dr Debasish Das

Debasish Das is a Chancellor’s Fellow in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Prior to this, he was a Research Associate in the Biological Physics & Mechanics group within the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge. He earned his MS and PhD from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of California, San Diego, respectively. Broadly, his research focuses on decoding the mysteries of nature driven by curious observation. Specifically, he is interested in complex and biological fluids, multiphase flows, electrohydrodynamics, active matter, and the locomotion of microorganisms. Debasish’s work is often inspired by simple natural phenomena or laboratory experiments, which he aims to explain using theoretical methods and numerical simulations.
