Dr Anya Kirpichnikova

Dr. Anya Kirpichnikova (she/her) received a BSc and MSc in Mathematics from St. Petersburg State University and a PhD from Loughborough University in 2005, specializing in wave behaviour and inverse problems. Following an EPSRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, she held a lecturing position at the University of Glasgow before joining Liverpool Hope University as a Lecturer and later Senior Lecturer. During this time, her research expanded to encompass wave propagation and the optimization of mobile ad-hoc networks. Additionally, she became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Since 2018, Dr. Kirpichnikova has been a Lecturer in Mathematics at the University of Stirling, where her research has broadened to include mathematical modelling in health sciences, inverse problems, and optimization techniques. Her projects span diverse applications, including ECG signal analysis, biophages manufacturing modelling, and cardiac modelling. Alongside her academic responsibilities, she serves as the Treasurer of the Edinburgh Mathematical Society and Chairs its Finance and Investment Committee.
